ARBOR HOUSE
Lake Tomahawk, Black Mountain, NC
This project involved the rebuilding and expansion of an early 20th century house on Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain. The owners purchased the existing house and work immediately commenced on converting it into a Bed and Breakfast Inn.
The original structure was reconfigured and converted into four separate guest suites, each with its own bathroom and a common sitting/ dining room. Two wings, flanking and more than doubling the size of the original house, were added to provide space for the owners' quarters, a garage, and an art studio as well as the kitchen and office for the B&B.
Through careful coordination with the contractor, both the design and construction were completed in a very short timeframe and the owners were able to move in only 9 months after the purchase.
